Title

AFS-OSD status update

Abstract

In order to make integration into git easier for AFS-OSD I ported the code to the latest unstable release 1.5.74. The source code of 1.5.74 is much nearer to the current master in git than it 1.4.12 is. We also created a Subversion tree for this version of the code to make it easier to understand the different patches and to follow the further development. The URL of this SVN tree is

http://www.pfanne.rzg.mpg.de/svn/RZG-AFS/trunk/afs_kerberos/openafs-1.5-osd

The idea is to have no conditional code in the cache manager, but only on the server and command side. So each cell can decide whether it wants to use the new features, but even if not, the clients still remain able to access data in cells using OSD in an efficient way.
